I've been sick! Oh the joys of winter weather and not taking care of yourself. Anyways, due to my horrible immune system (and my lack of getting a flu shot this year) I haven't done a lot of writing this past week. So, I'm sharing with all of you a snippet from a W.I.P. that I started some time ago but put on the back burner as other characters were talking louder. I hope you enjoy it. Dressed, and his first cup of coffee finished, Caj returned to the kitchen and made up a to-go mug. The mug held two servings, equal to his coffee cup, making it the perfect travel mug. Hot coffee in hand, Caj released a long and a short whistle. Barking greeted his call before two gray Norwegian Elkhounds came rushing out of the bedroom. Caj reached for their leashes, and snapped both of them on before opening the door and letting his two companions out. “Okay Thor, Freya,” Caj sighed as he locked his door behind him, “We’re meeting Hugo at the docks today.” Both dogs barked in recognition of his words, and he couldn’t help but smile. He walked leisurely down the sidewalk, enjoying the sound of the buoys in the distance and the gulls overhead. The occasional fog horn could be heard from incoming ships. This small costal town was so calming. It gave him a sense of home to be so close to the ocean. Thor and Freya loved it as well. The beaches provided the perfect places for them to run, outside their yard of course. The walk to the harbor was twenty minutes, three by car. Caj spotted Hugo sitting on a rock, a sketchbook in hand as he looked out to the lighthouse and then back to his paper. “You had better have one hell of a good reason to drag me out of bed at this time,” Caj snapped as he approached his friend and colleague. “You know I do,” Hugo replied, never looking up from his sketch. Caj looked over his shoulder and smiled. It was of the lighthouse, with a wave crashing against it. It was incredibly detailed for just a sketch. “Well,” Caj sat down and released Thor and Freya. He gave two long whistles, signaling them to go play but not stray, “Out with it.” “Isak,” Hugo said as he smudged a part of the wave to give it more shadow. Caj’s chest tightened as he looked at his friend. “Don’t fuck with me Hugo. I would know if Isak was in this town.” “Oh? Well, I’d get that sensor checked, because he’s here,” Hugo closed his book and met Caj’s eyes for the first time since he arrived. Dark brown orbs, almost black, peered into his own blue eyes. “Isak arrived last night. I saw him at Duncan’s Dive.” He handed Caj his cell open to a picture of a man Caj didn’t know. Not physically at least. He flipped to another photo, one that captured the man’s eyes, and Caj’s entire world spun. He knew those eyes. Those beautiful green eyes, the color of the Scotts Pines back in the dark forests of their origins. “Isak,” Caj whispered. “I find it strange how you two always ended up with the same name,” Hugo frowned. “You know my birth name in this life is Arnold,” Caj grimaced. “I changed it upon turning eighteen. Much to my father’s anger.” “Yeah, well it seems your boy must’ve done the same,” Hugo stretched his arms over his head and arched his back backward. “I heard several of his shipmates call him Isak last night.” “Where is he?” Caj asked, standing. “My guess? On his fishing boat down there,” Hugo pointed to the harbor just a bit in front of them. Caj released two whistles, one long and short, signaling Thor and Freya to return to his side. Instantly his dogs responded and he was leashing them back up. “Where do you think you’re going?” Hugo stood and grabbed Caj’s arm before he could head toward the harbor. “To see Isak,” Caj answered like it was obvious. “And what? What do you think he’ll say when he sees you?” Hugo demanded. “Probably the same thing he does every time he sees me,” Caj shrugged. “Don’t I-“ “Don’t I know you?” That voice, rich and yet soft sent a tendril of longing through Caj’s entire body. Turning, ever so slowly, Caj came face to face with the man he’d been searching lifetimes for. I'm hoping to have something from my current W.I.P.'s next week. As I recover and regain focus hopefully I'll make progress with writing again. Until then, I hope you enjoyed this snippet! If you did, Like & Share! Until next time!

Today on Author Spotlights I present to you Cree Storm and her first book in Kalil's Coven, Erik's Un Amor! Blurb:Erik has known that Billy was his un amor since the day the man walked in for the editing job, four months ago. It has not been easy watching Billy walk in and out of the office and act as if the man was not destined to change Erik's life, but how do you tell a man, that is human, you are an enforcer for your vampire coven and he is your mate? Well, some things just can't be put off for long, especially when Erik discovers his mate had been placed in grave danger. Billy loved his job, as an editor, for Romancing the Readers Publishers, until he made what he thought was the biggest discovery in his career. Telling his boss, their company’s most prize author, Dimitri, is a plagiarist was difficult, but not nearly as difficult as finding out that things really do go bump in the night and the plagiarist author was an evil vampire bent on destroying him. Will Erik ever get to claim his un amor as his own, or will Billy run when he finds out that they are destined mates and Erik has every intention of sinking his fangs into him before Dimitri can? Excerpt:Billy jerked back at the venomous way Erik had spoken to him. It kind of reminded him of the way Dimitri had a little over a month ago. A time Billy was still trying really hard to forget. Not sleeping at night was really taking its toll on Billy. He almost regretted fighting Cory so hard about going home, but he had stayed there a week and knew he needed to get back to his life. Putting what happened with Dimitri behind him. However, in the three weeks since Billy was home, every creak in the floor or groan of his place, had Billy on edge. It seemed like, whenever he tried closing his eyes, he would see Dimitri's glowing red ones and feel those nasty hands on his body. Billy's had just started sleeping a couple of hours a night, when Erik approached him with another novel, by Dimitri. He was asked to edit it and get it back to the man quickly. The thought of touching anything that nasty beast had touched made Billy's stomach roll. However, he knew it was his job and he wanted to get it over with as quickly as possible. When he had started reading the book, he had felt like it was déjà vu. Billy knew he had read this story once before, or at least something extremely similar. It was when he had come to the sex scenes that Billy knew exactly where he had seen this story before. "Billy, I asked you a fucking question and I want an answer right now! Why were you with Dimitri? Is there something going on with you two? Are you fucking him?" Erik snapped. "I would never..." Cory gasped as he backed quickly towards the door, "Erik, why are your eyes glowing red? Wh...What's wrong with your teeth?" Erik realized too late that he had vamped. He could smell Billy's fear and immediately felt the need to comfort his mate. The problem was that he was the one to cause his un amor's distress. "Please Billy, let me explain." Erik beseeched, as he moved slowly towards his mate. "Cory said I was delusional, but I knew what I saw was right!" Cory said in dismay. "What the hell are you talking about? Knew you were right about what?" Erik asked. "About vampires being real. I told Cory I saw Dimitri's eyes turn red, but he didn't believe me, Hell, he almost had me thinking I was crazy, but who's the crazy one now?" Cory said almost hysterically. I finally settled in Las Cruces, New Mexico, where I eventually got married and then divorced. I was blessed with two fantastic sons. As they grew up and became young men chasing their dreams, I felt that maybe now was the time for me to do the same. That’s when I started writing. Never in a million years did I expect to meet the most wonderful man in the world, move to Quebec, Canada, and get married. However, that is exactly what happened. JP has introduced me to things like; canoeing, snowmobiling, four wheeling, and has taken me to some of the most beautiful locations. Ones that I had only ever seen on a computer or read about in books. I may miss my mountains and my boys, but have discovered that when you work towards your dreams, the future can be one filled with happiness and love. My boys are only a plane ride away, and Skype is a glorious thing. So I say, on to my next adventure…don’t be shocked to find it in one of my books. Where to Find Her:It’s Wednesday, and that means it’s time to share another snippet from one of my Works in Progress! Today I’ve got a small sampling from Red’s Wolf: Not so Fair Tales 1. I’m still trying to decide how I want to publish this story when I finish it. I’ll let you know when I figure it out! Red's Wolf: Not so Fair Tales 1: The screech of brakes and the blare of a horn jolted Garret from his musings in time to jump out of the way of an oncoming car. “Asshole!” He flipped the driver off, looked both ways this time, and proceeded to cross the street. Why he agreed to meet Ruby on this end of the city he couldn’t remember, but it probably had been a combination of her fast talking, batting eyelashes, and angelic smile that made him give in. No matter the reason, he hated the glitz and glam of uptown. Everywhere he looked it reminded him of what was to come, and he didn’t need any more reminders. Ruby loved it, as was evident by the upscale coffee shop they were meeting at. Ruby spotted him as he entered the posh establishment, and waved at him. Never seemed to fail, no matter how irritated he was with his twin sister, all he had to do was see that smile and it would all fade away. Her red hair, blue eyes, and delicate face drew anyone’s attention. She’d chosen a black shirt and a red blouse that showed off her slim petite figure perfectly. Like her, Garret had red hair and blue eyes. He was also short and couldn’t gain weight or bulk up to save his life. He’d been teased about being a flat chested version of his sister throughout school. Thankfully he’d never let the haters get to him. He’d used his physic to his advantage and tailored a look to match it. He’d died the underside of his hair blond and often wore bright eyeshadow to draw attention to his best assets, his eyes. His sister was gorgeous, but he was stunning. “Garret.” Ruby stood and hugged him before he took of his dark red coat and placed it on a chair opposite hers. “Find the place alright?” “I did,” Garret sighed. “Why are we meeting here again?” “Because I love their vanilla lattes,” Ruby gushed. “And, you need a new suit for the gala tonight.” “No, I don’t, because I’m not going,” Garret gently reminded her before placing an order via a touch pad on the table. A Chai sounded heavenly right now. “You have to go!” Ruby whined. “They’re finally announcing the Wolff heir. You know what that means,” her voice took on a giddy quality. Garret couldn’t be any less enthused. He knew exactly what that meant. Whichever of the Wolff sons were named heir would marry Ruby, so they could conceive an heir of their own. Garret would be bound to the remaining son. Both leftovers handed over to be dealt with in the quickest way possible. It’s not like Isaak and Kilian were bad guys, well Isaak could probably be described as a bad boy by some, Garret just didn’t care! Sure, they were both tall, handsome, with devilishly good looks. There was more to life than hot men with muscular bodies and Greek god levels of manliness though. “Garret, brother.” Ruby reached over the table and gripped his hand. Her red polish contrasted with his black in a complimenting way. “I want you to be happy.” “And marrying one of the Wolff boys is going to make me happy?” Garret allowed his sarcasm to drip into each word. Ruby sighed and sat back. She took a sip of her latte as Garret’s drink arrived. “I’m just saying, how about giving them a chance? You’ve been nothing but hostile to them since we first met.” “When have I ever been hostile to either of them?” Garret demanded. He took a drink of his Chai and had to admit, this place was good! Ruby’s expression clearly said she wasn’t buying his ignorance. “How about when Kilian wanted to push me on the swing and you staunchly refused him?” “He didn’t know how high to push you,” Garret defended. “And that time Isaak asked you to play tag?” “Against a wolf boy? Please, no contest. It wouldn’t have been fair.” “Then there was Kilian’s sweet sixteen.” Ruby grinned as Garret flinched. “That’s right, I still remember the fuss you made about going. In front of him.” “You make me sound like a right bitch.” “Because you act like one at times!” Ruby gaped. “I swear, you intentionally try and make them hate you.” “It’s not like Isaak was any less entertaining,” Garret threw back at her. “What was it he used to call us when we came over? Oh right, curse order brides.” Ruby flinched. “Yeah, okay, I’ll agree that hurt to hear.” Look forward to more, as this story is just getting started!
