Itáyu Lake is a paranormal, alternative romance series with interconnecting stories. Each book can be read separately, but I do recommend you read them in order to follow the over all story line. Books are listed below in reading order.
A Dragon's Dream
Jason has been verbally abused by most of his family his entire life. Believing he’s unworthy and a disappointment to the people he loves he runs from the prophetic dreams that promise to lead him to his destined mate. Michel is a dragon prince and can’t understand why his mate is hiding. Frustrated after years of searching, he’s grown tired. A chance meeting at Jason’s brother’s new diner allows them to meet and for fate to finally take its course. Nothing is that simple though and Jason’s own fears and insecurities about mating start rising to the surface. Michel needs to find a way for Jason to see the worth he holds and accept who he is. These matters are complicated by his mate’s own family and the damage they’ve inflicted. Still, Michel refuses to give up and wants nothing more than to show Jason he’s loved and wanted.
Logan’s tired of being pushed away and refused by his mate. When Jared declares their pairing unnatural he finally decides enough is enough. Jared’s family has drilled into him that only water dragons are to be trusted. He’s confused and scared when he learns his destined mate is a cougar, not a water dragon. So he acts rashly and forces him away, realizing too late that he’s made a mistake. As he watches his mate sit helplessly in a hospital bed, he swears to change. To allow Logan to heal, and for them to come together as mates, Jared takes them to Itayu Lake. There he starts to question when he started to accept his Sire’s words, and the horrors of his own past come to light. Logan must try and forgive Jared for everything he’s done so he can help his mate come to terms with what has happened to him. Matters are further complicated when Jared’s mother arrives with the goal of taking all of her sons back with her.
Nate is the youngest of twelve, and the only one not yet mated. Being a member of one of the founding families of Itáyu Lake, he’s decided to inherit the Bloodline Legacy and remain on the lake alongside his best friend Jason as one of the two pillars of the barrier surrounding the land. He silently waits for the day his own mate will arrive. Viktor arrives at Spirit Valley during his Wandering and instantly finds his mate, Nate, working in a bar. Nate is shocked to see that his destined mate is a rough biker bear, a combination of two things he’s feared since he was young. Viktor needs to help Nate through his own fears if he’s to make a life with his mate. Matters are complicated further by the last remnants of Joseph Strand acting through his daughter, Jasmine. She plans to remove her family’s ties to the barrier, there’s just one problem, by doing so she’ll kill both Jason and Nate.
Galvin is the Itáyu pack Beta. He’s never experienced the Wandering and is starting to believe he doesn’t have a destined mate out there waiting for him. Troy has a secret he can’t tell his friends, he’s a Hunter. His father has groomed him since birth to hunt the unnatural and protect humans. Imagine his surprise when he comes face to face with the very monster he’s supposed to destroy and he feels desire. Galvin is thrilled when Troy chooses him, but he needs to figure out how to keep Itáyu Lake a secret from the group of Hunters closing in on them when he sees one of them talking with his mate. He also needs to keep Troy safe, knowing the Hunters will use him to get to Galvin. His problems are further complicated by a member of his own pack trying for his position as Beta. Knowledge of Troy could be the very thing the other wolf needs to push himself up the ladder.
Adriano has left his coven seeking solace away from the city life, and his cheating ex-boyfriend Lyle. He comes to Itáyu Lake and discovers a complication he never wanted, Ignacio. Though he never wished to find his mate, Adriano isn’t dumb enough to ignore fate. Ignacio was getting tired of waiting. After months of waiting on this lake his mate still hadn’t showed. A full moon night changes that when Adriano literally drops from the sky and into his arms. He realizes he’s got a lot to work to do to convince his mate they belong together, but he’s willing to do it. Instantly sparks fly between these two. Their relationship is complicated when Adriano’s past follows him to Itáyu. In the middle of all this Hunters have returned to figure out what happened to Butch and what is really going on at Spirit Valley and Itáyu Lake. Lyle Du’Val came to Itáyu Lake following his ex, Adriano. Instead of getting him back, he found his destined mate, Kai Kramer. Kai isn’t too please with Lyle still chasing after his ex-boyfriend, but is willing to be patient. When Lyle finally decides to move on, and accepts Kai he learns things about his mate that he never suspected, such as Kai having a daughter. With his new mating comes a daughter that just wants a family, and wants Lyle to be her mommy. Kai is stunned as he watches Lyle easily fall into the role of a parent for his daughter Zarinna, and finds himself quickly falling for his mate. Just as the three of them are starting to settle into their new lives together, Kai’s ex and Zarinna’s mother starts making demands. Kai and Lyle find themselves having to protect the young cub from her own mother. At the same time, they try to nurture their new mating bond.
Teak Ranta, an Arctic fox shifter, has moved to Spirit Valley in the hopes of starting over in life. He has a new job as a Veterinarian Assistant, and a new house. He’s even found his mate in Olander Frost, his boss and a snow leopard. Life is looking up, until his ex-boyfriend comes searching for him. Olander is thrilled to find out his new Assistant is his mate, and what a cute little fox Teak is! At first Teak is reluctant, thinking Olander will restrict him. When he just starts to break down Teak’s barriers an irritation in the form of a possessive human, Dominic Thompson, shows up wanting Teak for himself. Danger is moving in on Itáyu Lake and its residents once again when Olander brings Teak to the lake for protection. The human on Teak’s trail is a Hunter, and he’s not willing to back down.
This is a sweet and steamy book, as both Dragons go into heat when they meet. I really felt for Jason as it is hard to overcome your family's words, even when you know that they are not true. Michel was very patient with him, which was a delight to read. ~ 4 Stars
So in that sense, I was glad that, even though Jasmine got caught and dealt with in book three, the Hunters who have already made several appearances throughout the series are still very much present. In ‘The Hunter’s Wolf’ they move center stage, and with one of them turning out to be mated to the Itayu wolfshifter pack’s beta – the scene is set for a dramatic story. ~ 4 Stars
Not only do these two have the new bond to complete, but they also have Adriano's old lover, Lyle to contend with. Also, the Hunters are back, determined to find out more about the preternaturals that live peacefully on Itayu Lake. ~ 4 Stars
This was a brilliant addition to the series, with lots of character growth from Lyle as he shows he's not just a cheating-ho. He is now loyal Lyle, and is prepared to stand up for his new family, no matter what. ~ 4 Stars
